I heard birdsong a few days ago, or maybe a few weeks ago.

You are in Athens and suddenly you see a huge advertisement with an image of an island. Probably somewhere in the Cyclades; I am not sure which one. A very blue image. A very blue sea. The kind of image that has become almost a cliché of Greece. Still, for some reason, it felt intimate. I found myself unexpectedly connected to it.

The birdsong came back to me.

Two very simple things. Familiar to everyone, yet somehow missing from many of our everyday lives. A quiet feeling of nostalgia. A personal question of how a city can slowly keep us away from this blue.

This collection comes from a very short imagined story. A small imaginary life I found myself dreaming that day, while looking at that image and remembering that birdsong.
